Little Me in Everyone

Genre: Self Help, Contemporary Fiction

Rating: 4 stars

Dreams are extended realities of life, manifesting our latent desires.

This book, Little Me in Everyone is about a man Vikas and his journey of life. At different stages of life, he was put to a test and while he failed in some, he succeeded in the rest. Across the sixty chapters of this book, the author shows us how Vikas learnt to take his own decisions, the chances he took, the risks that came with it but he went forward with his decisions and that made him who he was.

This character Vikas is a representation of everyone of us. Our lives are different and all throughout our life, we are put in different situations, how we, our subconscious and conscious mind respond to it, and so we keep making different choices and hence we are all different. As the book states, that’s how our destiny is written – by us.

Self help books are not my type but this one was quite interesting since it was in the form of a contemporary fiction. Each chapter ends with a wonderful and thought provoking quote which made me think deeply. I noted most of them down and I will share a few which I really loved:

  • “Karmic struggle has no deadline.”
  • “If desires are not uprooted, they grow again as weed.”
  • “Our breaking point can be a turning point in life.”
  • “Destiny is all about the risks we take and chances we fake.”
  • “Life is a gracious balance of holding and letting go.”

Definitely a wonderful read. I would recommend anyone who loves self help books to read this atleast once.
